Stimulating achievements: The mediating effect of employee commitment between high-performance work practices and employee engagement

Drawing on the social exchange paradigm, this study evaluated mediating effects of employee commitment (EC) in relationship between high-performance work practices (HPWP) and engagement (EE) Nigeria. The used theory paradigm has been previously works Blau (1964), Gouldner (1960), Settoon et al. (1996). adopts a cross-sectional survey research design via questionnaire administration. Three (vigor, dedication absorption) (affective, normative continuance) dimensions, six (employee selection process, motivational compensation, job design, participative decision-making, information sharing, training/development) were employed. Data collected from one hundred sixty-eight employees selected ministries Delta State analyzed structural equation modeling (SEM). Results showed that positively affects practices. result also indicated mediated influence engagement. results further suggest affective does not mediate link vigor Notably, theoretical managerial inferences have methodically discussed paper.
